About

Tom Kunze is a certified personal trainer in West Hollywood California. I spend over 25 years in and out of the gym. After many ups and downs I pursued my fitness interests and became a personal trainer. Since 2002 I’ve taken a back to basics, no nonsense approach to training and fitness. I am ACE certified and train at a local gym in Hollywood.

I am currently blogging about my personal journey of getting into and staying in shape. I’ve done 12 long distance cycling events and have just begun training for my first marathon.

Over my past, my body has changed in so many ways. I was overweight, took up running, lost weight, started bodybuilding, gained weight, lost weight, hired a trainer and dropped 60 lbs, started cycling, gained weight, lost weight, became a personal trainer and once again gained weight.

Everyone who goes to the gym do so for different reasons. The bottom line is staying healthy, personal fitness as a foundation of a fulfilling life. I began writing a few years ago and decided to compile my personal experiences, reasons, thoughts and observations into a project titled; ‘Fat Chicks Do It for the Snacks’. As a former ‘fat chick’ I feel highly qualified to document my journey.

Currently my personal goals include losing weight, re-gaining muscle mass and running my first marathon scheduled for early 2010.

Stay tuned for my various updates about my training, transition and a lot of laughs.
